settings).
I'd say this is wrong for all systems running without nvidia hardware,
maybe it should be a recommended dependency.

This is not about KMahjongg but kajongg. Big difference. A very
different game and a very different implementation.
kajongg is a pure Python application.
There are no Python bindings for KDE Frameworks 5 except for some
experimentation.

thought everybody uses the scalable icon if nothing else is available, but

I can reproduce it too with attaching external power. So setting power
management to performance in battery mode fixes it for me. Moreover the
kernel freezes I had seem to be gone since getting rid of closed source
drivers (Broadcom and ATI Radeon)

I accidently just opened a bug report about the same problem for
firebird 2.0: bug # 517044 which has been closed as Invalid within
minutes for some rather questionable reasons. The problem is in no way
fixed.
