libib_util.so IS used publicly by many other UDF libraries. how should I link my own xxx_udf.so if I have no idea where the user has her libib_util.so installed? The firebird default is /opt/firebird.
if you invent a new path for a new firebird version or for whatever reason, will you relink all installed udf libs and notify all UDF authors? No? See! if the user installs firebird directly from firebirdsql.org without using debian packages, she probably has yet another path for libib_util.so and I have to debug her installation with no help from firebird because firebird produces no useful error messages for this case. your solution means a LOT of trouble for the UDF developer. This is no acceptable solution IMHO. Would you please be so kind to also look at bug report 419198. Sorry I did not see that one before, at least it is marked as "in Progress" since 4 months and not as "Invalid". -- ldconfig does not know about /usr/lib/firebird/2.0/lib https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/517044 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
