No, all drives have always been detected with the Precise repo kernels

3.2.1 using ATI Catalyst drivers, except mine is always preceded by an
HDMI hot plug event. I switched to the proprietary drivers specifically
because while using the open radeon drivers, the EDID handshake often
failed to complete

On my Amilo Xi 1526 I had Ubuntu 7.04, 7.10, 8.04, 8.10 and now 9.04

The problem with the sound has always been the same.
Settings with the best result are : options snd-hda-intel model=6stack-dig.

This is Ubuntu 8.04 Hardy. I've tried enabling and disabling certain startup
scripts, but it still won't do anything!
Compiz Fusion isn't the problem because it works normally when enabled in
Failsafe mode.
Anyway, all what I remember happening is that I clicked on the Clock applet on
the Gnome
I've tried going into Failsafe GNOME to fix the problem,
but I can't find it. Even the System Log didn't say anything
regarding Gnome 2.22.3 failing.

OK, thanks. As a minor correction, though, the issue is not as you
stated in the most recent note, "only a result of what you are dragging
to (the list view)" but is just the opposite... the issue is dragging
FROM list view TO a browser. The error does not happen using icon view.
