After testing with affected hardware I can confirm that Intel 82579V
NICs experience the same issue as the 82579LM reported in bug 870127
which the test kernels resolve.

Thanks for the immediate attention and test Oneiric kernel which I will
test on Monday.
The patch resolves issues with a teaching/research lab of ~200 Natty
hosts so I would be grateful if this was considered for a Natty SRU as
it makes these simpler to maintain. I have tested the same patch with
Long shot... Can you use another device with ping and tcpdump to
determine whether the packet loss is during reception or transmission?
If it is only at reception then it might be that the 82577LM chipset is
affected by the same issue as the 82579LM chipset reported in bug
870127. (Intel may be ab
