I tried the insructions to do a backtrace but the hardy repositories
just give a 404 error. So I enabled apport. Not sure what you need but
I've attached the log messages and the /etc/crash messages

I can confirm this bug. Just installed Hardy on SDHC card of Asus eee
pc. Have to launch virtual terminal to get to desktop.
