Confirmed that with v4l2loopback-dkms 0.12.3-1ubuntu0.1, configured
devices are not correctly advertised. This breaks Zoom, Cheese, etc.
Compiling v4l2loopback from upstream source works correctly.

When I first started getting these crashes, they were triggered by
attaching an external monitor, but that problem seems to have been

wake it up. It also destroys screen and tmux sessions somehow, so these

Following step 3, I was able to file a crash report as bug 1800027.

It appears that previous releases of the samtool package (0.1.16, I

Sure would be nice if upstream used autotools or something.

Hmm. Perhaps this bug is a problem with the Adwaita theme, although
Evolution is the only package that seems to be affected.

I hope you'll take another look at this bug. Doug's point is that there
is no *interface* for modifying these settings. It isn't normally
possible to log in as the lightdm user, and even if it were, that would
be silly.

Ugh. I loathe global menus, but I don't want a menubar on my terminal.
Could we maybe just have a dialog box pop up when you uncheck "show menu

Blacklisting tpm_tis allows the machine to enter S3 about 75% of the
time, but now we're just back to the original problem. It still
intermittently crashes while attempting to enter S3.

I observed this problem as well, although I suspect the author of the

Yes, I am aware of the other bugs addressing these problems. I filed
this bug because in aggregate, these issues create a condition most
people readily identify as "uselessness." This is a conservative

I can also confirm the same problem. Edgy always sends jobs as a4,

The same solution ('cat letter > /etc/papersize') "fixes" the problem.

The "correct" way of fixing this problem would be to install a dummy
package that provides mail-transport-agent.
Or, instead of a dummy package, install the nullmailer package. It's
tiny, and you can have it send your system mail to a gmail account
instead of dropping your messages on the floor.
