In the past, the Linux/ACPI video driver invoked _DOS (Display Output
Switch) with the parameter 1 to tell the BIOS to switch the video output
display for us.
But this conflicts with Linux native graphics drivers, and can cause all
sorts of issues, including hanging the system.

I have found a solution that completely stops it from crashing. It's not
an Ideal solution but it works for me.
Remove the acpid by typing this: sudo apt-get remove acpid
I have been running my computer like this for a few weeks now without it
crashing at all.
This still loads the acpi module wh
