The environment variable that Ubuntu 10.04 creates from the GNOME GUI
for the whole systems has an extra comma at the very end of the no_proxy
list. That gets compared wrongly by the no_proxy_match, sufmatch method,
returning always true and retrieving the URL without proxy.
Temporary solution is
It seems the problem is somewhere in the retr.c file, something
concerning the no_proxy_match method and getproxy method. Still looking.

Well I downgraded my edgy packages to the 1.2.0-0ubuntu5 version adding
some other like the libgnutls12 and libtasn1-2 and now the printer works
fine.
The only problem is that I have like 10 packages broken... not a big
deal. I'll wait until feisty repair it or until I finish my semester.

Well, the thing is that with older versions of cups it worked flawlessly
and since I updated the dapper to 6.01 it stopped working.
The router has an USB port and is shared through IPP I haven't seen any
other way to share it... I tried what you said and nothing happened, so

the "@" is displaced to the ":" user-password separator.

Since I reported initially the bug I changed to Edgy, like a month ago
and I kept in sync with the updates until it become the stable Edgy.
I tried the command you said and as you mentioned it disables the Paper

I think that the change that was applied before, just got lost.

There isn't a single application, actually I tried with 3 different
computers/installations and applications. Ubuntu knot3 + updates, Ubuntu knot1
+ updates and Xubuntu knot3 + updates with the same behavior.
On the first machine I installed "Quod Libet" and "Meld diff viewer", on the

Well I just tried the Knoppix distro with Xorg 7 and the pci detection
was fine, but the server didn't start until the vesa driver was tested,
I'll attach the log for this.
I'll try to get the log for the Ubuntu Dapper version because I got it
running with the Breezy so...

When I print something the queue receives the data but the printer doesn't
print at all. I tried with the queue-raw the samsung-ml1610 from Samsung (but
problem with some ppm2spl2 or something) and also the cups included ppd the
ml1510 (this one was the one worked before).
So no output at all, n
I tried with my Ubuntu dapper, and it didn't worked out. With a raw
printing, with a postscript ppd and with cupsys ppd ML-1510.

I tested all the possible options... it looks like the synaptic
configuration excludes all other configurations and
I use a router with a printer server and it happens the same. When I use
the same configuration but throught USB it works fine.
So something happens whit the ipp protocol...
Somewhere mentioned the "partial" solution of giving a password to the
root user, and add the 'cupsys' user to the 'shadow'
with dapper it shows :
"http://proxy.empresa.com:8080/";
and with edgy :
"http://robert:[EMAIL PROTECTED]:8080/"
I usually start synaptic from the System menu, but when I'm at my
workplace with a proxy I use the terminal. "sudo synaptic".

helper export the information correctly to the console.

I'm testing the edgy distribution with alsa-driver-1.0.12rc1 and with
the ALC883 it also fails.
At alsa web-site the changelog for 1.0.12rc2 says that they support the
ALC883 finally with the snd_hda_intel driver.
Guess this is a posible correction.
