I think I may have run into another issue related to the same bug. While
the login loop problem appears to have been fixed, the fix does not seem
to have cascaded down to other prompts that one may encounter in special

I have tested with 4.10 (linux-
image-4.10.0-041000-generic_4.10.0-041000.201702191831_amd64) and can
confirm that the lockup can be reproduced in this kernel as well.
Some additional information that may help:
1. This is a multiboot machine and I have Arch and Manjaro installed. I can
reproduce
Further update: It appears that the lockup happens only when streaming
video and not when playing local files. There is a possibility that
could be network related. Definitely does not happen with the 4.4x
kernel.

I downgraded the nvidia driver to nvidia-current-updates (304). The
system locked-up again while playing videos but this time around it came
back for a few seconds. While the mouse and keyboard were not
responsive, I was able to see the video move rapidly and my conky
scripts were updating for the

I have to push the power button twice to resume from suspend. On the
first push, the computer wakes up and then immediately goes back to
sleep. It actually wakes up and gives me the login screen on the second
push. This problem started after the last kernel update and subseque

Well, I bit the bullet and used boot-repair to try and revive the
unbootable 13.04 install. I used the instructions in the Ubuntu wiki and
installed boot-repair and then ran the summary first (and it saved my
life). The summary showed all my Bootit partitions with full info on
start and en
Same issue with fresh install of release ISO (x64). I have a multiboot
system (several partitions). Grub was not installed. I always install
grub to the partition and selected that option during install. The
third-party bootloader I am using (BootIT Baremetal) reports the
partition is not bootable.
I no longer have this problem. It either went away after some updates or
because I did a dpkg-reconfigure lightdm. At least, I haven't had this
problem since the last couple of reboots.
