Same problem here. Basically I cannot install Kubuntu 15.04. Same
symptom: installer hangs at 33% while preparing the ext4 file system. I
currently have KUbuntu 14.10 and was trying to format the root partition
and put 15.04 instead. Noticed that the installer didn't actually do any
changes to that
Errata: on my previous post "Intel D820" should read "Dell 820". My
apologies.

I confess I'm new to this process (so no familiar with patching roadmap)
... but was wondering ... why is this bug still in "New" status ? Is
there still a doubt it is a bug ? If VLC crashing was deemed to be of
medium importance, surely X crashing should be thought as being ... high

Maybe I am doing something wrong but ... in my nvidia-settings the TwinView

have even tried to enable it manually on the xorg.conf file but again to no

Hi everyone,
Initially have filled in this bug report on KDE bug tracking system but
they've redirected me here and also said that "X is crashing" (KDE bug
id 52398),
So here it is the story again:
Using Kubuntu Maverick (10.10) with stock KDE 4.5
After latest NVIDIA updated, which happened a few days ago, the issues
seemed to have been fixed. At least for me. I fully re-created xorg.conf
with "nvidia-settings" and everything works fine. So from my perspective
this bug can be closed.

Hi all,
Was able to find a workaround: I have edited the xorg.conf manually and
changed the following lines:

with:
