I am also affected by this bug. Is there any progress or a quick
workaround? It's quite annoying to have to chose the input device every
time you want to have a call.

It seems that the problem comes up only when the synchronisation of
notes is set to Ubuntu One. I switched to local folder syncing and the
problem hasn't been reproduced ever since.

I am working on a note (a big one) and suddenly tomboy complains that
the note cannot be saved. I click OK to the dialog box informing me
about this and then tomboy crashes.

Some more information that might prove helpful.
Before the bug, I was using static IP. My /etc/network/interfaces looked
like this:
auto lo
iface lo inet loopback
iface eth0 inet static
address 192.168.1.30
netmask 255.255.255.0
gateway 192.168.1.138
auto eth0

But as stated in 305398, that is only a workaround. This bug needs to be
fixed.

Graciano's suggestion solved my problem.
I removed all interfaces from /etc/network/interfaces, restarted and
network-manager works as it should.
I am using Ubuntu 8.10.

Today, right after installing the latest updates, the network-manager
shows that I am disconnected from the network even though I am connected
and I can surf using firefox.
