After upgrading to Ubuntu 20.10 I don't see any files/launchers on the desktop
after start.
But if I create a new Desktop folder per context menu, all files/launchers
appear on the desktop.

After upgrading from Ubuntu 18.04 to 18.10, my Xbox 360 controller
doesn't work any more. After reloading xpad per modprobe it works again:
modprobe -r xpad
modprobe xpad

Today, 8 years later :), I cannot say something new regarding this bug - I even
don't have this camera any more. For me you can close this bug now and try to

If I boot in ubuntu "recovery mode" per grub (select something like "Ubuntu ...
(recovery mode)" in grub menu and then select "resume" (see screenshots in

I think there is a race condition, causing the
Booting in recovery mode and resuming normal start works.

I have the same problem with my Canon EOS 550D. The thumbnail process of MOV
files almost never ends making copying of files from the camera very slow
(10kb/s).
This bug is very critical - low priority is hard to understand to me. Should
not Ubuntu be good for beginners?

Pressing shift+^ should work but it is not a good solution. The problem
is because you need to press ^ key twice to open console but

I have no "expose" and no 3d-cube in compiz. However the keyboard accelerators
work without cube effect. When i try to use expose nothing happens. I have open
ati drivers running (radeon 9500 pro). All other effects like woobly do work.
