I am on PCG-K115Z too, running Hardy Heron. Whether I connect AC power
or not does not seem to matter.
Results of my ACPI debugging as suggested in the above URL:
- No ACPI-based fan
- None of the kernel boot parameters except "acpi=ht" work for me.

I am having having exactly the same problem. The boot is swift. However,
I experience delay getting to the login screen. Sometimes it is logging
in (i.e. getting to a Desktop) and sometimes I am able to get a desktop
in about 2-3 mins, but then my desktop freezes. All of this happens in
random orde
More info on this. I looked through the apt.log and found that the
scripts seems to have a problem with the package openoffice.org-l10n-mr-
in. Removing this package seemed to move things forward.
However, this failed again with the error that it {edubuntu, ubuntu,
kubuntu}-desktop was not instal
