Tried installing the latest nvidia driver with the latest envyng from
Hardy Proposed and it failed. Tried removing all nvidia traces
completely and reinstalling envyng and it failed again. Only way to get
nvidia working again was to enable it via jockey.

Downloaded the proposed Hardy-2.6.24-19 kernel yesterday and resume from
suspend no longer functions. I get the gnome panel on top and a white
screen for everything else and a mouse pointer. The system is a Dell
Latitude D820 with an Nvidia video card (using the 169.12 driver)
There's a delay for me, but only about 3-5 seconds. Definitely not 100
seconds.

Same here. I've been running the new kernel and now recommend it to
people in forums. It's a no brainer, really. Hardy is much more
responsive with the kernel in proposed. I'd really recommend pushing it
out as an upgrade now.

Well guys, lo and behold suspend is working for me again under Hardy
Beta (-16 kernel). I sometimes get the whitescreen on resume, but I can
still type my password and get in. I believe the whitescreen is a known
nvidia bug.

Unfortunately I don't think there is a fix for this yet. I googled
around when it first happened and the developers are aware of it and are
working on it. It's apparently not an easy fix - Microsoft changed quite

I think the medium classification for this is too low. This can really
impact your system. If you don't have a terminal window open and no
shortcut to one on the desktop you are effectively locked up. Alt+F2
fails me in this situation, too.

That might help indeed. I can't reproduce it under Hardy Live CD either
(running in a virtual machine). It could indeed be a specific driver
issue. But my machine uses the nvidia driver. And it appears under
virtualbox to be using a generic vga driver.

This does not crash for me. Can you try running from a terminal and see
if you get any error messages? Also, perhaps an extension is causing
this. You may try disabling your extensions and seeing if the crashing
stops.

Other question would be are you on your company's network or off of it?
If the OWA server is available off-net it doesn't mean the catalog
server is reachable off-net.
That's a big problem in Evolution in general...it can't handle that very
well. Unfortunately my company upgrade to Exchange 2K7 so
I can confirm this is caused by snd_bt_sco module being loaded. I loaded
it yesterday and skype would start, and then die (eventually killing it
put it into a zombie state).

I did some more testing this evening. This works from gnome-terminal,
but not from the menu. Start FF from the terminal and it uses the proxy
server defined in the Network Proxy applet, but not if run from the
menu. The big difference between the two is FF run from the menu has a
parent process ID

This is still not working. The proxy tab now has an option for taking
the settings from the system, but I still cannot connect via firefox
when that is set. Manually setting the proxy server does work.

Pretty much confirmed it is the Global Catalog Name Server setting for
me. If it's available (via VPN), Evolution is down right speedy. If it
is not, it takes forever to load.

Slow for me too, Hardy Alpha 6 + updates (Mon Mar 17). Takes about two
minutes before it opens up. No error messages. Even after it appears, it
says "loading" for another 3 minutes or so. And then after it loads, it
can still be a couple more minutes before you can select and see an
e-mail.
