There's no indication of this bug's ever being fixed. The workaround is
always launching Gdebi through Terminal. Run-
sudo -i gedit /usr/share/applications/gdebi.desktop
make it read:-
[Desktop Entry]
Name=GDebi Package Installer
GenericName=Package Installer
Comment=Install and view software pa
Also happens while installing Xubuntu on Intel hardware. Installation
gets cancelled every time with ubiquity crash. But by the time of the
crash, installer already makes changes to HDD (leaving the system with
grub_rescue).

Tried to install Xubuntu 19.10 both with and without internet
connection, crash happens anyway. HDD is fault-free.

I'm a Xubuntu flavour user and I've never seen Gdebi work (17.10-19.04).
It just closes immediately after I press "Install" button. If I run
Gdebi with root privilege through terminal (sudo -i gdebi) then it
works.

Xfce team has deprecated xfce4-icon-theme project. So I made a best
guess and reported the bug
here(https://bugzilla.xfce.org/show_bug.cgi?id=14378). Hoping this will
be fixed at some point. In the meanwhile changing icon theme is the

I have this issue with gnome-software on Xfce 4.12 (Xubuntu 18.04 LTS).
The problem occurs with default icon pack elementary Xfce darker; along
with elementary Xfce, elementary Xfce dark, elementary Xfce darkest icon
pack. So the problem occurs with the whole series of elementary-Xfce
