Is the suggested patch the same that is included in this ppa?

I'm using the above ppa, and it works fine, however, there is no
synclient, which makes on-the-fly reconfiguration difficult.

I have a Lenovo Thinkpad T440s, which has a ClickPad.
It should support at least 3 finger touches:
xinput --list-props 12 | grep Capabilities
Synaptics Capabilities (317): 1, 0, 0, 1, 1, 1, 1
but geistest and grail-test tell me:
geis: attr "device touches" = 2

I think this is one of the few show stoppers for using KDE as desktop for the
unexperienced user.
Gnome handles SMB / ssh / ftp / ... so nicely and transparent for applications,
while in KDE every single application has to support the protocol.
For experienced users, the cifs-mount-workaround is
Thanks for the workaround.

Is the ubuntu/linux power consumption "bug" really device-specific?
On my Thinkpad X60s, ubuntu uses at least 4 Watts more as Windows does: roughly
12W instead of 8W (thats 50%) .
I haven't seen a single device since my good old
This is getting OT, but how can you get 1141 wakups/sec when your top wakeup
cause has only 33.7 wakeup/s ?
I recently booted windows xp, which only consumes 8.5W compared to 12W in idle
on ubuntu :(
I'd really like the powersaving issue to be adressed..

Same here on an X200 Notebook (Core 2 Duo P8400).
After Suspend to Ram and Resume, the System is extremly slow, applications only
use one core (100% most of the time).
Even without X, its not usable until next reboot.
