This was the most similar bug report I could find. On a Thinkpad X31, I
get sound from both speakers when I'm connected to the dock. The laptop
itself only has one speaker, so when I'm not connected to the dock, I
get mono sound.
Also, when I plug in an Edirol UA-1EX external USB sound A/D-D/A,
I'm now running 7.10, and I don't recall seeing this recently.

I'm using 6.10, with no backports enabled that I know of.
Like, it appears, several other people, gthumb pops something up, but
the.n complains about not being able to access the device. Running
"sudo gphoto" works swimmingly well.
I too tried the 'SUBSYSTEM!="usb_device", GOTO="libgphoto2_rules
Setting the date to 2008 didn't reproduce the bug. Which is a strike
against my theory that clock-shifts are causing the problem.

I just resumed from suspend today. Some things were slightly odd; for
instance, the screensaver didn't start up. I'm not sure why... At any
