Why are we still using the old 1.3.3 version, and not Thomas Dickey's
1.3.4 ?

Rm bug duplicate of one specifically for Raring, which is closed
presicely for that: no more support in Raring. This bug is present in

same problem in Utopic.

installing xubuntu-desktop replaces boot splash screen and GDM theme

Public bug reported:
install of kubuntu-desktop does the same. I don't think that this is
right, i only wish to have more desktop environments available, that
doesn't mean that i want a new splash screen or a new GDM, the original
ones which came with the Ubuntu install are just fine, and indicate
xdg-menu and menu are concerned with the Debian menu structure, which
Ubuntu does not use by default. So i would think that definitely not a
requirement.

I concur : I'd like cue sheet support for any format, lossless or lossy,
that cue sheets are for. I'd like to be able to skip to selected parts
of an audio file such at Pink Floyd's Shine On You Crazy Diamond (Parts
1-5) and (Parts 6-9) and the Atom Heart Mother suites, skip over
Coldplay's Lovers
Ah, it creates the link on its own. Nice, but should be documented

Yes, when recreating a VM, first do a "virsh undefine ", then
run your vmbuilder command.
It's too bad that you hit that error 28 mn in the game : a verification
could be added to vmbuilder's preflight_check, or, vmbuilder could
perform the undefine itself.

What you have in /etc/fstab will not affect how your disc gets mounted,
if you use a complete mount command such as the one you quoted in your
first posting, that is, specifying both the dev and the mount dir. This,
per the mount(8) man page. But the fstab settings will be used in all

My workaround was to use X-CD-Roast instead, but the drive recently
failed on me, cdrecord had quit working too. So i replaced the cheap

Same problem here, with an internal ATAPI CD writer.
cdrecord at the command line works, although i have to specify dev=/dev/hdd
even for a -scanbus option, otherwise cdrecord fails to locate the CD writer
drive. Apparently i have no SCSI support in the kernel, no "scsi"string to be
