I have the same problem with the latest Grub in Ubuntu 17.10. For me it
helped to enable "console" mode inside /etc/default/grub as workaround.
I am using an Nvidia GPU.

Public bug reported:
Hi,
the MATE-Faenza-Dark icon pack has a dark menu icon for the app launcher. I
think it should be brighter, because all other icons match to a dark
theme/panel instead of this one icon.
Thank you

Hi,
please check the font colour of virtual box toolbar (see screenshot). They are
very hard to read. I guess the theme just needs some colour optimizations.
Maybe this affects other programs as well.
Best regards! :)

I can confirm this on Xubuntu 13.04 x64 with latest updates..

I tried it now on my HP Probook Notebook -> same bug.
Fresh installation of Xubuntu 12.04.1, then "apt-get dist-upgrade" to the
newest kernel "3.2.0-30.48-generic".
In this notebook is an ATI card, but it happens also without the driver, so it
seems not ATI or NVIDIA related..

Hello,
lightdm causes some trouble after doing "apt-get dist-upgrade" to the newest

After the login screen and the login process you just see the wallpaper of the
workspace and the mouse. It takes very long

I have the same problem on a fresh Kubuntu install. I selected to
install Kubuntu with the third party software while installing but
