I tried it now on my HP Probook Notebook -> same bug. Fresh installation of Xubuntu 12.04.1, then "apt-get dist-upgrade" to the newest kernel "3.2.0-30.48-generic". In this notebook is an ATI card, but it happens also without the driver, so it seems not ATI or NVIDIA related..
