At work (router: Netgear WG602 v3) I am reliable able to connect, using
up-to-date Precise kernel

However if I disable wireless, then enable it I get the follow

Christopher M. Penalver, as stated earlier on in this thread, this
machine was upgraded from 11.10 where the wireless worked flawlessly
from the start. I only started having this problem once I upgraded the
machine to 12.04

3.4.0-030400rc6-generic-pae kernel , I get similar behaviour as with the
