I just test the latest upstream kernel :

And the module is correctly loaded.
So this issue is fixed in the latest upstream.

Public bug reported:
When I plug my device under Linux configured as ethernet gadget in my usb port,
I should have usb0 in ifconfig.
But it doesn't load automatically the module cdc_ether which allows that so I
have nothing in ifconfig.
Here you can see my dmesg when I plug the device :

I had this problem too on my Lucid 10. and I confirm that you just need
to disable floppy in Bios and remove the line with /dev/fd0 in
/etc/fstab even if you have no floppy drive.

This problem was occured after a dist-upgrade from Ubuntu 8.04 to Ubuntu 8.10
The compiler flags are in the make.log attachment.

Thank you for your reply, I just re-tried to make a MD5SUM of a file
(with md5sum command [I'm on a Debian]) but I don't see any star.
Nevertheless my script was already patched to be Ubuntu repositories
compliant ;) Best regards.

I test with only one RAM stick but it's not working better.
I will change the affected package from nvidia-graphics-drivers-177 to dkms.
Perhaps it's an include who failed, but I don't understand where.
