Ubuntu 13.10 64bits, when trying to install "scilab", says (in French):

I have recently updated to Saucy (Ubuntu 13.10) with a newer kernel
(3.11.0-12-generic) and the problem is fixed !!

For information, as I previously said, the only things I need to update in
order to install the quitplot package from debian repo is the library
"libalglib" from version 3.7 in ubuntu saucy to 3.8 from debian repo.
Maybe it is the library you're talking about.

Exactly the same problem for me
Since I don't have usb2.0 port available on my laptop, I can't mount my
Canon EOS 1100D
As previously said, there is no problem with other kind of devices with
my USB3.0 ports.
