It seems any password auto filler gets fooled by the honeypot on the

Setting up an old laptop for a person used to using OSX so set touchpad
scroll direction to be Reversed. It works in nearly all applications and
windows but the Application Finder still scrolls in the standard
direction, rather than change with this setting.

@ggrandes: I experienced that reboot loop on one my aws machines (with
3.13.0-155-generic) today too. Stopping the machine from the web UI and

does appear to exist in 16.04 but I believe should be superseded by
libtag1v5-vanilla, yet it doesn't seem to recognise as such. As it

Something has changed between the Audacious used in Ubuntu 16.04 and
18.04. When deleting a track, with the "Advance when current song
deleted" option set to true, the track selected by the cursor always
used to advance to the next (now playing) track. It no longer does this,
I'm afraid my terminal scrollback history isn't long enough for me to
see the original error. Reinstalling libjack-jackd2-dev afterwards was
not a possible solution due to the vast quantity of software it wished
to remove!

I ran ubuntu 16.04 live from usb and it has sound. I installed it with
updates and no sound. I installed it without updates and sound works.
Conclusion? The updates nuked the sound.

unity8 will freeze up from time to time during operation of xterm or
other x11 legacy apps. This freeze up was reported by htop running in an
instance on tty1. It will show two sessions of unity8 running at 100%.

At boot-time, the kernel will panic somewhere in 'blk_mq_register_disk',

This may be a teamviewer problem. I don't know if it is relevant, but when
searching /var/log for any mention of munmap, I got the following results:

Yeah, I think is mostly a misconfiguration on my part. You can't overlap
the execution of those two crontab lines without having problems, even
with the -L flag. I saw some weirdness even with the file locking in
place on some of my systems.

I finally noticed that sadc has optional file locking with the -L flag,
so I suspect that will likely fix my problems. Just going to add -L to
the debian-sa1 lines in the /etc/cron.d/sysstat.

Latest stable nodejs version is 0.12.4, seems like it would be better to
aim for that in 14.04 LTS and later. But obviously Debian hasn't
upgraded anything from upstream in a long time, either. I guess I'll
just use the PPA.
