Fresh setup of Ubuntu 15.10 desktop. Select location as Kuala Lumpur.
Select English as the language. When the setup is complete, click the
time icon and be shocked to see the locale that is set is for Malay
(basically you see the days refereed to as Jumaat instead of Friday).

If you install Ubuntu 14.04 LTS on a t1.micro instance on amazon (613MB
ram), you cannot simply do a: sudo apt-get install mysql-server-5.6.
You get an error:

I found that exiting X (i.e. logging out of X, then relogging back in)
