@Pedro. First off sorry for the long response time in advance. I am able
to implement this bug in Karmic also on Ubuntu. To be more specific,
there is no error in the logs, maybe this is just a simple curve ball in
the coding and simple fix... The shuffle button only shuffles songs in
your Library
An invalid source wouldn't stop the source from opening. The problem
lies in Synaptic where the sources link wouldn't open the file. It also
would not open from the Gnome menu > System > Administration > software
sources. I would consider this a bug, why don't you?

I just compiled & installed kernel 2.6.28rc9 (latest prepatch) and IrDA works
like expected :-D
I checked irdadump, ircp and ircomm0, everthing works :-).

I downloaded the linux source code via synaptic and replaced the nsc-
ircc driver with the version from kernel 2.6.24-21. I compiled it and
installed it -> Problem still exists, so the error isn't in the nsc-ircc
driver, but I don't know where to search :-( I now installed the hardy

I can also confirm the problem with the ubuntu intrpeid beta release on an
HP/Compaq 6715s. The system is very very slow.
Ubuntu Hardy with 2.6.24-19 kernel worked fine but the wlan wasn't working, so
I installed intrepid where wlan works now but everything is to slow :-( I think
