Two different computers with sky2 had the same issue with the network
card. The network card stops working. Doing an ifdown followed by an
ifup seems to work, but there is no network connectivity after doing
these steps.
I had to use another ethernet port (which uses the skge

Do you still have this problem with the Dapper 6.06.1 livecd or, better
still, the Edgy RC1 cd? If you do, could you please copy the
/var/log/acpid file after a failed attempt at using any acpi function?
You can also attach the output of dmesg and the /var/log/messages file
