I was having the same issue with 15.10 install media but resolved it by
booting into the live session, opening a terminal, using fdisk to create
a new GPT table, making one giant partition, formatting it, then
proceeding with install. Install went off without a hitch.

This looks the same as the problem I have.
I had another OS installed on the disk before I installed Ubuntu using
the 12.10 live CD. There was a small primary partition, the rest of the
disk was an extended partition. There were two partitions at the front
of the extended space so I installed Ub

for it to crop up one time. This is also a production box, running
public email and web servers. So I'm inclined not to test the latest
kernel, unless you think it's going to be pretty risk free and worth the
effort.

The "safe remove" functionality was removed from udisks2, and it's not planned
to bring it back. It caused too much trouble with e. g. devices which are
internally wired to an USB port, and you could never use them again until after
a reboot.

The same affected me but I just switched themes to anything besides the
ambience theme and it worked fine for a quick workaround.

I originally set --prefix=/opt/empathy-3.4.2.3 so I can have the latest stable
and proposed on same machine.
It had some problems compiling but it made after I tweaked it but it wont start.

I have proposed enabled on 2 of my 3 test machines and I let cron handle
my updates a few times a day on each so it should.. I didnt see it on my
laptop only libmutter and checked my logs so maybe it hasnt hit
everywhere yet so I grabbed it off of bazzar and sent it to both
machines I have proposed
