I had the same problem. I dual boot Ubuntu 24.04 and Windows 11. The
issue was resolved for me by disabling fast startup in Windows 11

The fast start up option which is enabled by default on W
I just upgraded to impish and it seems that the issue is fixed in

Whenever I try to open image file from trash in ristretto, it doesn't
display the said file and instead displays the blank ristretto window.
Gnome image viewer (eog) can open image file from trash without any
issue.

i was downloading a 1.5 gb file . upon completing 1gb download, i had to
pause the process and shut down my pc. upon switching on i couldnt
resume the download as the file was missing.

yeah.. a similar kind of problem here too.. Suppose a pawn from f2 moves
to f4, the opponent pawn from e4 manages to capture it and move to f3.

Thanks for the reply.
Actually the problem was because of some broken packages.
I did this-opened up synaptic package manager and selected "Custom Filters"
(bottom left) then "Broken" that displays broken packages with a red box, I
uninstaled them, now it works fine.

I was updating my system which runs ubuntu 8.10, it gave a prompt window saying
that I`d go for partial updates as few previous updates have not been
successfully installed.
So I went ahead & clicked on partial update, then i got this error "Can't
install 'ubuntu-desktop'".
I tried to update 8.04 to 8.10 . I dont have apt-cacher installed but am
behind a proxy. I get the same error
Running up to date feisty on a server w/o X, trying to update to gutsy via the
do-release-upgrade command. Seems like this command never works right..
