not able to test the bug anymore. If you want to reproduce the original
bug in a simple way, you can run the Kubuntu 9.04 live CD, and try to
use the Clrt+L shortcut. I don't know if the bug still exists if you
just install Kubu

After updating my Kubuntu Intrepid system, my notebook can't boot
anymore. It freezes at the very beginning, in the first screen (With
the blue Kubuntu logo and text, where the blue progress bar bounces from
left to right.)
Additional info:
The KDE4 login screen is not flickering. Once logged in, the periodical
flickering behaviour (8sec) starts.

I performed a test with a new USB stick. Surprisingly that USB stick
showed no problems, so I tried to find a difference.
I discovered that the type of FAT differs. I hope this is useful
information.

When I insert my USB-stick (FAT), the stick is mounted, but I can't copy
a file onto it. Reading from the stick works correctly. Below you can
