I hacked a solution. I located the /var/lib/lxd/lxd.db which is simply a
SQLite database used for configuration. Obtain write-access to it and
execute SQL "DELETE FROM images". I also went ahead and cleared out some
other tables. Obviously this is a hack so be careful and create a backup
copy of th
If I want to reinitialize LXD with a dir backend I'd execute "lxd init
--auto --storage-backend dir", however I get an error "You have existing
containers or images. lxd init requires an empty LXD.". So I go to
remove the images via "lxc image delete local:dc28950ffa5b", but that
throws an error "e
I can confirm this. I too am getting this error message after deleting
the zpool LXD was using.

I'm not interested in recovery. I want to remove zfs usage for the
default dir backend. I'm ok with flushing all local images and
containers as this is a development environment.
