I hacked a solution. I located the /var/lib/lxd/lxd.db which is simply a
SQLite database used for configuration. Obtain write-access to it and
execute SQL "DELETE FROM images". I also went ahead and cleared out some
other tables. Obviously this is a hack so be careful and create a backup
copy of the database so you can restore it if you break something. Happy
hacking. Please fix the juju cli interface; if I send a command to
remove the images whether it's there physically or not it should be
removed.
