An unresolvable problem occurred while calculating the upgrade.
This was likely caused by:
* Unofficial software packages not provided by Ubuntu
Please use the tool 'ppa-purge' from the ppa-purge
package to remove software from a Launchpad PPA and
try the upgrade again.
If none of this applie
a second reboot fixed it, so i think there was a fault in the first
reboot that i missed.
if it pops up again, i'll report it once more.

I've had sound working on this laptop for a long time now, but today I
added a second monitor (VGA only, no HDMI or audio capabilities of any
sort), its an ASUS VH192D, and the sound has stopped working. I don't
see the correlation between the
