reverting back to libmutter-6 seemed to have fixed not only scaling but

Not exactly. Looking at that, it's rather vague, and for someone like me
that's not a coder/programmer by any stretch of the imagination and is
merely a packager, that doesn't help a whole lot at all. It really needs
to be that, and which files belong to which component.

For what it's worth, this doesn't just affect the X710-TM4 controller.
The X710-T2L card is rendered completely useless by this bug as that
card only has copper 10 GbE ports. As with the X710-TM4, the latest
version of the Intel driver fixes the issue.
Are there plans to release a fixed i40e drive
As for documentation, I'm not sure what kind of information should be
provided. I've listed all components that can be found in the project
