After every restart/powerup my laptop I see normal greeter. After login to my
account I see just wallpaper or black screen with mouse pointer on it. Pointer
looks correctly, and I can move it without a problem.
But I see no Unity panel on the left

1. It's possible that the .profile should be executed with the user's shell.
2. It would appear that for some user's, .profile happens to be executed with
bash (or the user's shell) and in other cases it is executed with /bin/sh.
