That is probably due to workaround with "nouveau.modeset=0"
If so, without that flag system won't even boot to allow to collect detailed

GTS card. Hence don't expect performance... Better try nouveau instead !
I have Oneiric x86_64 too and experience similar problems with my 8800M

clicking empty line on task area. And now evolution calendar doesn't

Note that "merely" updating and upgrading an older beta version with
Update Manager is NOT SUFFICIENT.
I had to download the latest ISO liveCD image and re-install completely.
