Opening the lid of my Thinkpad T61, to resume from a previously normal
session reveals the following effects: No icons visible on panel at top
of display, left-hand menu not visible, mouse pointer is visible and
screen background image is normal.

If this is not a duplicate of another bug, please ask for whatever
further information you require.
