This bug does not trouble me anymore as I have had to re-install ubuntu for
another fault. I re-installed from a two sided DVD in a magazine and this

I had a similar problem, however it was not with Eclipse directly. I
simply had a java app that was compiling with gcj against the
org.eclipse.swt.gtk.linux.x86_64_3.2.1.v3235.jar.so file.

I agree with your points.
I tried commenting out the exit 0 in the script Matt mentions. Ntp works at
boot time now. It also gets restarted if I ifdown eth0; ifup eth0. Still have
ntpdate being run after ntp has started and it fails because ntp is running. In
ntp.conf a mix of server l
.5 is much more usable than .4
Including the latest release in Ubuntu would make it much easier on the authors
to keep going forward then to be maintaining a buggy previous release.

I've been asking around if it's possible to get
https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+archivemirrors/ as an easily parseble
format, however didn't get a response yet.
Until that's possible, I see two options:
a) somehow parse the html output
b) rewrite /var/lib/apt-spy/mirrors.txt in the package by

Okay, I got the output requested. I think it will be somewhat useless.
For one thing, the xresprobe returned exactly NOTHING. Again, I have a
KVM so checking the monitor certainly does not work.

It might be a good idea for kernels before the final release to ship
with CONFIG_PROVE_LOCKING and maybe other lightweight debugging options
like CONFIG_DEBUG_SPINLOCK_SLEEP turned on to get reports of potential

or perhaps the linux-source package is broken. I had tried basically
