After going on the #radeon channel on Freenode, we narrowed the problem
down to the switcheroo-control package. We started by hand making an
xorg.conf file and disabling gpu-manager, but still had issues. Looking
at the dmesg log, we saw that the discrete gpu is enabled at first, then
disabled some

I did some additional tests and reinstalling openssh-server does not
break it. It only breaks after the update procedure.
To recreate the error, take a fresh OpenVZ 6 Templates of Ubuntu 16.04 64bit,

I'd like to add that it's now 2019 and still no fix insight.
It really just requires support for WPS in NM GUI and the gnome control center.

laptop with ALC294 sound card. I run Kubuntu 18.04.
I confirmed that after updating kernel to v4.19.19 Sound works well. Updated
