upgraded my virtual systems from wily (1510) to xenial (1604) when they
there still were in development mode. I recovered the upgrade by apt-get
-f install, apt-get update, apt-get dist-upgrade (issued a few times).

I'm somehow confused. While the attached branch adds a missing
dependency, it seems from some of the comments this is not actually
fixing the bug.
In my particular case:
- I had manually installed libpam-cgfs
- Modified /etc/pam.d/common-session as suggested [1] (although the branch does
not see

completion in Trusty. Has this changed in Xenial? It doesn't look like
bash-completion has changed at all, so is there a conflict where the two
