I am a new and potential user of squirrelmail. I have a few questions:
Can I install squirrellmail on Server B, but have my mail server continue to be Server A. So when people retrieve their mail, The log into and see Server B, but server B is retrieving(POP), and sending(SMTP)
I know how sendmail interacts with a client when POPing.
Mail accumulates in a spool file until the user downloads the mail via POP.
However, if I had SM on the same machine as sendmail, how would it work?
Would user's mail be left in the spool until they deleted it? Or would mail accumlate e

I have looked under the display options and I do not
see a value to set how often SM polls for new mail.
Does one exist, is it instant, or do users have to
refresh their browser?

I am using HTML Area 3.0 (rev beta) on SM 1.4.3.1.
Browser = Mozilla firefox (0.8)

When typing in the composition area in Moizila type
appears as single spaced. When I toggle HTML <> I
cannot toggle back. Is this a compatibility problem

SM save an email as a draft fine. When viewing the

Does SM have a "Chime" plugs that rings a little bell

I am using the shared calendars 1.1-1.4.0.tar.gz with
SM 1.4.3.1.
When I try to delete a user from the administrator
options I get "Permission Denied cannot delete user".
It let me them up, why does it not let me delete and
how do I correct?

With HTML composition on, when pressing the "Reply To" button, the browser hangs. If the user does not wait ~1minute and presses the X the browser will crash. The reply screen does come up only after a prolonged hang
Can this spam assassin plugin be made to either:
a) Delete spam automatically.
b) Move spam to a "spam folder" automatically.
c) Allow users to flag "SPAM" so it gets rejected the next time around.
If yes to any a,b,c can someone point me to a webpage on how to address it.

In options/display preferences some of our users,
including me have set:
Include Me in CC when I Reply All = NO
Yet when reply all is hit in cc's the sender. We have
compose set to Compose in a new window(if this
matters).
Can I manually do a fix for this prior to the next SM
upgrade?

or if you have a specfic email:
cat /var/log/maillog |grep
[EMAIL PROTECTED]
It should tell you why that email was rejected in the
maillog.

I believe I am having several problems related to IE6.
Several Machines on 6(w98) and 2(XP) with i.e.6 are:
a) Hanging unless switched from HTML composition to
Plain Text.
b) Hanging when bringing up new composition window
and trying to send. This happends on short and long
emails.

I have noticed that email sent to me from users who are on an Exhcange 5.5 do not generate an attachment symbol in SM. Is this a known issue on the chopping block for correction, or is there a config flag I can switch?

similar to the way it flags replied-to messages?

When attempting to send email one of my users received
an error (2x today):
on the top of the compose window:
ERROR
Authentication Failed
Server Replied: 535 Error: authentication failed.
I am using Timeout and user has compose set to "open
new window". Timeout is set to 6 hours
Is there a "open email in new window" plugin just like
the compose email in new window function?
Also in the compose email in new window can it be
configured to close window upon send (configurable by
user)?

With Spam Assassin running the headers of each email
get a X-Spam-Status: Yes if identified as spam.
If I go into message filters and make the following
rule:
[Edit] [Delete][Down] - If Header contains
X-Spam-Status: Yes then move to Trash.SPAM
Press submit then ALL unread emai
Update:
I was able to get it working again by doing the
following:
1) Removing all filters.
2) Deleting source folders that were the recipient of
the filter.
3) creating new folders (in lower case only)
4) adding filter and pressing done then save.
Now it's working.
