i'm trying to migrate squirrelmail-1.4.x with user preferences files
stored in /var/lib/squirrelmail/prefs between 2 Red Hat Linux servers.
after setup, squirrelmail runs fine, so i've done a rsync of /var/lib/
squirrelmail/prefs , with correct permissions
but users prefs are not shown on

Thanks for the reply. Changing this option to false did not correct the
problem. It was actually some white space at the end of the prefvals in
the database. Once I corrected that, SM works fine with the DB.

Some of the preferences are changing SM 1.2.8
Some of the options in Options are changing, in some accounts if you
change options they don't change, the plugin options have disappeared from
the options screen but the plugins still work.
