Yes -- vertical splits have to redraw themselves which makes things
like scrolling slow.

i tried the yesterday cvs version of screen for getting

i compared the old version (default of ubuntu 7.04)
(screen 4.00.03 (FAU) 23-Oct-06) with the yesterdays version
