Doesn't this suffice ?
./configure LANGUAGES=""
Or perhaps you mean something else.
Steve
It is funny, but maybe we are saying the same thing :-)
1) Opening study.
I have a "study" database where i open a new game to enter the opening moves.
Then i open the "big" database as a tree to show stats and interesting games.
It's the same as you do, except that i use the best games window in
Hello Gerd,
I second that - exactly thats the way I used chessbase to prepare for
opponents and imo it makes sense to decouple tree window and game filter
lists, as you suggested.
On a side note, it would also be cool if there was a way to merge tree
games (lets say annotated super gm games) with
Hello,
here you can see the difference how we work.
When I prepare an opening I load a new game, and play the moves of the
opening. At the same time I follow in the game window the matching games.
There might be a well commented one, a game of a good player playing the
same kind of positio
Hi,
Probably off-topic, but just wondering:
I can reach the windows desktop of my test box from my real linux PC
using rdesktop. The windows box (windows 7 pro, 64-bit) is an extremely
fast i7, with lots of memory etc.
What I am suffering is that I absolutely cannot do anything in scid's
GUI
To cut things short, I did revert to the existing order of files.
Not a dramatic change, just putting the non-english language files back
at their position. I might (or might not) be looking for an alternate
strategy to produce an english-only executable.
Cheers,
Joost.

I'm sorry, i probably didn't get your point right.
Are you saying that the actual behavior: a tree window that shows the stats
for the entire unfiltered database and only the best games for the partial
filtered database is an intended feature!?!
What if i want to look at a list of games of an opp

I just repeat my opinion: the tree should not touch the filter.
When a filter for Kasparov (or an opponent) is set probably one wants to look
at that games, and maybe keep the tree opened to check the statistics. Why the
tree should change that list?
Want to look at games that reached a particula

This is a problem where I currently can't see
Hi,
[CVS/Linux+Windows]
1) Start scid
2) Select Options/Language/Nederlands
3) Ensure options are saved
4) Quit scid
5) Start scid
On Linux following is dumped into the console:
Error: invalid command name "setLanguage_N"
Error in startup script: can't read "langEncoding(N)": no such element
