The timestamp on modues.dep in /lib/modules changed. Is there any reason
why it should? this is on a running sytem that has not been reboot in 322
days.

that would occur around this time. We've looked through our logs and noticed
no breaks in norm

But I must be wrong about this because:
(a) RedHat wouldn't force every kernel to be called
/boot/vmlinuz-?

I did check that I have a modules.dep at my /lib/modules/2.0.34/
but there is not a "preferred" directory.

I just received my RH 51 and installed it without problems.
I did recompiled the 2.0.34 kernel from the sources (linux-2.0.34.tar.gz)
but now the only thing which I can see strange at boot time is a
message:
