I downloaded that second .iso they put out this past monday at
ftp.redhat.com and was wanting to give it a try. Are there bugs in it also?
Are we talking about the gcc problem? I have a test machine that I just
wanted to test out some th

If you're doing an FTP install, put the files in a link (it can be a soft
link!) in /home/ftp >OR< create an account "RedHat" and simply mount the
.iso there.
mount //7.0-i386-disc1.iso -o loopback -t iso9770 /home/ftp/
will do the trick if you don't need disk 2
Hello:
Quick question. "Non-political too :-)"

Setup a ftp server either on the windows box or on another linux box and point
it to the cdrom drive. I've found that it HAS to be an anonymous user with no
password, other wise it just says it can't find the files. Then you make a boot
disk from bootnet.img from the cd. Then boot the upcoming co
Hey,
I need someone to correct me if I am wrong
To setup and FTP install server, all I need is to copy the RedHat
directory from the CD to the /home/ftp/pub directory and then point my
bootnet.img floppy to this directory, correct? I am running into

FTP install of Redhat 6.1 worked fine for mw via ftp.

Everything under i386/RedHat/ should be enough, I believe. You'll also
need the images that are in i386/images.

Hello all
I want to create an ftp server on my 'masqueraded dialup/gateway' box...
that will be 'available only to machines on my private network'...
that will have all the Redhat 6.1 files/directories necessary
for me to use to install RH-6.1 on 'other machines' on this network
by FTP.
I just did an ftp installation today. Before doing so, I used PartitionMagic
to repartition my harddrive. Initially, it was one 4GB FAT32 partition used
by win95. I repartitioned it into:
Partition
/dev/hda1 win95 ~2.5GB
/dev/hda2 BootManager 7MB
/dev/
I recently (1 wk. ago) did the ftp install.
Several sites were slow or would not allow the ftp login. The site below worked. The
paths specified in:

need to be appended with "/current/i386" (or fill in your p
