I recently (1 wk. ago) did the ftp install.

Several sites were slow or would not allow the ftp login. The site below worked. The 
paths specified in:
http://www.redhat.com/support/docs/rhl/RedHat-HOWTO/Redhat-HOWTO-2.html

need to be appended with "/current/i386" (or fill in your platform in place of "i386)

The site that I was successful installing from is below:

sunsite.unc.edu/pub/Linux/distributions/redhat/current/i386
