Hello, all.
No small thanks to Mr. Matthew Bradford, I did manage to finally get X up
and running on the NEC Ready 340T that was giving me trouble under RH 7.1
and 7.3 (but that worked fine with 7.0). The solution? Install 7.0, back up
the XF86Config and XF86Config-4 files from /etc/X11, install

you can hit alt-ctrl-F1 to get to the first virtual console from a bad X
session. or, you can try booting into single user mode. once you get to
the command line, you need to edit your /etc/inittab and change the
default run level to 3, from 5.

I'm running 7.3 on a Dell Latitude CPi, which also has the NeoMagic 128XD,
and it installed flawlessly.
The only thing to remember is to keep an eye on how much video RAM you
tell it that you have installed.
