That's a somewhat odd way to put it. On RH 6.0:
% locate ld-linux.so.2
/lib/ld-linux.so.2
% rpm -qf /lib/ld-linux.so.2
glibc-2.1.1-6
It's the ELF dy

I agree it is a NS problem, but:

Netscape uses that library. It's safe to kill -9 it if it's still hung
after you have killed all of your Netscape processes. It's normal for it
to use a bunch of ram, but it shouldn't use that much CPU if your Netscape
is idle. It does tend to get
ld-linux.so.2 is Netscape's statically linked libraries. I have to pull up a
java applet for our firewall at work to get internet access. I'm alway kill -9

Sometimes it dies after 20 minutes...sometimes it'll go for almo

This is the process I always kill when Netscape hangs, so I assume it
is a Netscape library. If I don't kill it I can't restart Netscape, and
killing effects nothing else.

Hidong,
ld-linux.so.2 is Netscape's backend process that handles things such as communication.
Killing it with Netscape active will kill any Netscape windows (including any
newsreader/composer/etc windows).
In some cases when Netscape dies or 'hangs', this process remains active and can cause
