Just finished putting RH8.1 on a Compaq Presario 900 and had similar problems. I discovered it was easiest to scrub the drive and install RH8.1, then partition and area for XP. This worked well and I've had no problems. I ran into all types of problems when first putting RH8.0 on top of XP - ke
